Indoor Things to Do in Ahmedabad: 10 Best Activities

Three players cheering with medals after escaping

Ahmedabad is packed with things to do indoors, whether you’re looking to escape the heat, avoid a rainy afternoon, or simply want a break from the usual outdoor plans.

Ahmedabad has escape rooms with live actors, stepwells that stay cool in summer, art caves you can walk through, and heritage sites with roofs. This list mixes modern adventure spots with covered heritage spaces that tourists and locals both overlook.

Escape Zone

We run four themed escape rooms at Arista Business Hub on 100 Feet Road.

Inside The Chamber of Chills.

Lost Souls of Pirate’s Bay throws you onto a shipwreck with a live ghost pirate actor who will make you jump. Chamber of Chills is the haunted house with a 60% success rate. Enchanted River Quest splits your group into two teams entering from different doors.

Then there’s Upside Down, Ahmedabad’s only 75-minute escape room where everything is literally upside down.

Chairs hang from the ceiling, tables are inverted, and your brain fights you the entire time. The 35% success rate makes sense once you’re in there.

Pricing starts at ₹700 per person on weekdays for groups of five or more. We’re rated 4.7 from over 410 reviews.

One visitor wrote, “The rooms are well-designed, challenging, and super immersive. A huge shoutout to the owner, Manuj, who was fantastic.”

You can explore all four escape rooms on our site, check birthday party packages if you’re planning a celebration, or look into corporate team building options for groups up to 32 people.

RD Game Zone

RD Game Zone charges ₹100 per hour to play PS5, Xbox, or PC games in a lounge setup.

Open 10 AM to 10 PM daily, rated 4.7 from 77 reviews, it’s the kind of place where you can drop in solo or with one friend without booking ahead.

The vibe is neon-lit gaming stations and zero pressure. You’re not locked into a team activity or specific time slot. Just pay by the hour and play what you want. It’s the kind of place where you can burn three hours on FIFA without noticing.

For budget indoor fun, it’s hard to beat ₹100 an hour.

Sidi Saiyyed Mosque

The lattice windows here are famous for a reason.

Built in 1573, the stone jali work shows a tree motif so intricate you’ll stand there trying to figure out how anyone carved it by hand. The windows are under cover, so rain doesn’t matter, and the mosque stays cooler than the street outside.

Couples come here for photos. The light through the latticework changes depending on time of day, and if you’re into architecture or just want something beautiful that isn’t a shopping mall, this delivers.

It’s a quick visit, maybe 20 to 30 minutes, right near Lal Darwaja.

Combine it with chai at one of the stalls outside and you’ve got a solid rainy-day plan that costs nothing.

The Gujarat Tourism page has visiting details.

Adalaj Stepwell

Drive 20 minutes north and you’ll hit Adalaj, a five-story stepwell built in 1499 with octagonal pillars and carvings that cover every surface.

Stepwells are naturally cool, and this one is deep enough that you feel the temperature drop as you walk down.

Families bring kids here because it’s visually stunning and you can explore the levels. Couples come for the architecture and the fact that it’s never crowded on weekday mornings. I brought my book club here last year and we spent an hour just sitting on the steps.

It’s technically in Gandhinagar district but close enough that everyone counts it as a city trip.

Pair it with Sidi Saiyyed or Jama Masjid if you’re heritage hopping.

Details and history are on the Gujarat Tourism site.

BounceUp

BounceUp is where you go when you want to burn off some energy indoors.

This indoor adventure park combines trampolines with obstacle courses, arcade games, VR experiences and interactive activities.

The trampoline and Airpark areas make it especially fun for groups, while the softer play zones mean younger kids can join in too.

It’s a good rainy-day option when you want something more active than sitting around.

Vyjainthi Art Cave

Vyjainthi Art Cave is a themed art space designed to look like an actual cave, with hand-painted murals covering the curved walls and small installations tucked into corners.

It’s intimate, a little weird, and perfect for couples who want something Instagram-worthy that isn’t a café.

The space is small, so you’re not spending hours here, but it’s the kind of place that surprises you.

My friend took her partner there for an anniversary visit and said it felt like discovering a secret gallery.

It’s not a major tourist stop, which means you’ll often have the place to yourself. Pair it with Mr Potter art café nearby for a full creative afternoon.

Mr Potter art café

Mr Potter art café offers pottery classes, painting sessions, and a café where you can sit with chai after you’ve finished your project.

It’s hands-on, which makes it better than just sitting in another restaurant.

Couples book pottery sessions here, families bring kids for painting, and I’ve seen solo visitors come in just to try the wheel for the first time. The staff walks you through the process, so you don’t need experience.

The café side is bright and colorful, with finished pottery lining the shelves and a menu of snacks and drinks.

It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time shaping clay or mixing colors.

Fun Zone

For a classic indoor game night, head to Fun Zone at TRP Mall.

Bowling is the main attraction, but you’ll also find arcade games, bumping cars and other entertainment, so there’s enough to keep a group busy for a few hours.

It works particularly well for friends, families or casual dates where you want some friendly competition.

Since it’s inside the mall, you can easily turn the visit into a longer indoor outing.

Republic of Karting

Want something faster? Get behind the wheel at Republic of Karting.

Located at Fungrito on New Science City Road, it offers an electric go-karting track with tight turns and straights where you can race friends for the fastest lap.

No previous karting experience is required, and safety equipment and instructions are provided before you race.

It’s a solid pick for groups, birthdays or anyone looking for a more adrenaline-filled indoor activity.

Gujarat Science City

If you’re planning a full day indoors with kids, Gujarat Science City is the answer.

Established in 2001, it’s got an IMAX 3D theater, a planetarium, simulator rides, the Planet Earth Pavilion, Hall of Space, Energy Education Park, and enough exhibits to keep a family busy for hours.

It’s educational without feeling like school.

The simulator rides are popular with teenagers, the younger kids love the dinosaur models, and the IMAX shows are worth the ticket price.

Summer and monsoon make this place packed on weekends, so visit on a weekday morning if you can. It’s fully air-conditioned, which matters when it’s August and you’re spending four hours inside.

The Gujarat Expert guide covers all the pavilions and ticket pricing.
